2014 Bengal Cat Club Show

Over the years we have had many requests to hold the club show in Autumn rather than in the height of Summer. At last we now have the opportunity to make the move without clashing with other favoured shows. The 2014 show will be held on 1st November and we are looking to hold that weekend for future shows. The move should help members show more of their cats and kittens to better advantage with better coats than in peak Summer.

The change of date has also meant a change of venue, the Cricklade Leisure Centre cannot accommodate us that weekend, so our Show Team have secured The Link Centre for us at an affordable cost. For those of you that are not familiar with the Link Centre, it is a large well appointed Leisure Centre just a couple of minutes off the M4 motorway making it more accessible for most. There is ample free parking, and if you want a break from the show hall there is a shopping precinct at the same venue. All in all it promises to enable us to have yet another great show, so put it in your diary and we look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at next years show.

The change of date will of course make it impossible to have the photograph competition at the show for the following years calendar. We will still run a competition for your photographs so watch this space for details of how we plan to arrange it.

CAT Wheels!!

People are always asking us if we know anyone who's making them, well this guy has been developing them for some time and has finally launched the finished product and his new website, and they have been tested and approved by Bengals!

They are certainly designed to last being fully weatherproof for outside use, high quality stainless steel bearings and frame with an almost limitless colour choice for the drum. He's put a lot of thought into it, it's even got built in wheels for ease of movement.

Club notices

Club Plaques for Members' Titled Cats

Members who have Bengals who have gained their GCCF titles are invited to claim their cat's Club Plaque. Please send details of your cat's certificates to Annie Wedge-Coak (contact details on the Committee page).

Welfare and Rehoming

This Club has always been strong on welfare and the new Welfare and Lost and Found Section should help speed the process of caring for the cats that need re-homing and re-uniting any lost Bengals that come into the system.

Whilst we are on the subject of lost and found in particular, if you own a Bengal or any other breed of cat, do make sure that they are microchipped. We have had far too many lost Bengals that are clearly well cared for and obviously much loved, only to be unable to re-unite them with their owners because they are not chipped.

The Bengal Cat Club News Section gives an “at a glance” way of keeping people informed of the latest show and other news. News items will also go into the Archive Area, for retrieval at a later date for reference if necessary.

The Kitten Register should benefit both breeders and people looking for a kitten. .

If you have a welfare issue, or have lost or found a Bengal, please contact one of the committee members for assistance.

ALL THIS INFORMATION CAN BE FOUND ON THE WELFARE NEWS PAGE.
WE ALSO HAVE A LIST OF ADULT BENGALS LOOKING FOR NEW HOMES
SO BEFORE YOU DECIDE TO PURCHASE A KITTEN MAYBE YOU COULD CONSIDER
GIVING AN ADULT A SECOND CHANCE OF A LOVING SAFE HOME.

If you have a general enquiry, please send it to the Chairman, Barrie Alger-Street, by email at barrieandrosie@typha-typhast.co.uk and he will ensure that it is passed on to the person best suited to deal with it.
