2014 Show Details

OUR 9TH CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW

Over the years we have had many requests to hold the club show in Autumn rather than in the height of Summer. At last we now have the opportunity to make the move without clashing with other favoured shows. The 2014 show will be held on 1st November and we are looking to hold that weekend for future shows. The move should help members show more of their cats and kittens to better advantage with better coats than in peak Summer.

The change of date has also meant a change of venue, the Cricklade Leisure Centre cannot accommodate us that weekend, so our Show Team have secured The Link Centre for us at an affordable cost. For those of you that are not familiar with the Link Centre, it is a large well appointed Leisure Centre just a couple of minutes off the M4 motorway making it more accessible for most. There is ample free parking, and if you want a break from the show hall there is a shopping precinct at the same venue. All in all it promises to enable us to have yet another great show, so put it in your diary and we look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at next years show.

The change of date will of course make it impossible to have the photograph competition at the show for the following years calendar. We will still run a competition for your photographs so watch this space for details of how we plan to arrange it.

july 2013 show news

The GCCF Council Meeting on Wednesday 26th June granted Preliminary Status to Blue Bengals with immediate effect. As a result our Show Manager has said she will include classes for the Blue Bengals at our club show on 3rd August. This is very short notice, but a wonderful opportunity to launch "The Blues" on their way at our very own show.

The Snow Marbles were also promoted to Championship Status effective from 26th October. However, the delegates very kindly agreed to let promoted Breed Clubs with shows before that date have Championship Classes in lieu of Provisional Classes. This was a very generous gesture by the delegates and met with great enthusiasm by our Show Management Team. There will be Championship Classes for Snow Marbles at the club show instead of Provisional Classes!!!!

The nicest way of saying thank you to our show management team and the delegates is to get your cats entered for the show and make this a really special show to remember.

If entering Blues please highlight the fact on your entry form for the show manager who will allocate the class number.

If entering Snow marbles, the class number will be as in the schedule only it will be changed to Championship and not Provisional as printed.

I would just remind everyone that this was a concession for our club show, it will be the end of October before all breed shows have Snow Marbles listed as Championship, but Blues will start appearing as soon as show managers can get the classes in schedules yet to be printed.

The Chairman
